At Studio Olera, we believe good design should make you feel something
a sense of comfort, curiosity, and joy in the everyday. We mix natural textures, thoughtful details, and a dash of the unexpected to create spaces that are as livable as they are beautiful.
Each project is a true collaboration — an exploration of our clients’ values, lifestyle, and vision. The result is a thoughtful balance of function and feeling: interiors that resonate with authenticity and stand gracefully over time
CURRENT PROJECTS
LEICHHARDT HOUSE 1
This project transforms a dated townhouse through a complete interior reconfiguration, introducing new finishes throughout, including redesigned kitchens and bathrooms. The plan has been rearticulated to improve circulation and optimise storage, creating a more functional and cohesive spatial experience.
A sleek, moody palette anchors the interior — black timbers, dramatically veined marble, textured tiles, and specialty paints combine to evoke depth, tactility, and quiet sophistication.
This project has recently finished construction, with professional photography to come.
NEWTOWN HOUSE 1
In the Heart of Newtown this project involves the careful transformation of a dilapidated terrace into a layered, thoughtful home. A significant rear extension opens the plan to a combined kitchen, living, and dining area, where the kitchen flows effortlessly into custom joinery in the living space, creating a cohesive and functional heart of the home.
A rich material palette of warm timbers, moody stones with natural movement, and brass detailing brings depth and tactile richness throughout. The master suite features a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite, and a studio and garage are integrated discreetly, supporting both daily living and creative practice.
The project is currently under construction and is scheduled for completion in March 2026.
ANNANDALE HOUSE 1
This two-bedroom terrace, with strong existing bones but a history of ad hoc additions, was reimagined to restore its original character while enhancing functionality and contemporary comfort. The design carefully balances heritage sensitivity with modern refinement — reinstating the charm of the principal terrace form and rationalising the existing extension.
A sophisticated, timeless palette defines the street façade in harmony with the conservation area, while the rear transitions to a more vibrant and playful expression. Interior updates include feature lighting, layered soft furnishings, and a joyful interplay of colour and texture in the kitchen and bathrooms.
This project has recently finished construction, with professional photography to come.
NORTH BEACH HOUSE 1
A new build for a family of five, this forever home balances openness with retreat. Generous kitchen, living, and dining spaces form the social core, while the master suite and children’s rooms — each with its own ensuite — offer privacy and calm.
An elegant material palette featuring silver travertine, oak, and brass brings warmth, refinement, and a sense of permanence to everyday family life.
This project is currently under construction and is due for completion in December 2025.
KINGSFORD HOUSE 1
Originally constructed as a modest 1950s suburban home and subsequently converted and altered over the years, this project thoughtfully restores its original mid-century charm. The design carefully preserves key architectural elements while thoughtfully reconfiguring the rear extension into a spacious, light-filled open-plan living and dining area. It includes a brand-new kitchen, modern bathrooms, and a well-equipped laundry room. Upstairs, the bedrooms have been expanded to allow for generous storage solutions, including a luxurious master suite featuring a walk-in wardrobe and an elegant ensuite bathroom. One of the bedrooms is transformed into a vibrant, textured rumpus room designed specifically for children’s play and creativity.
The warm, refined palette harmoniously blends creamy limestone, elegant marble, and soft brown timbers with subtle rust, olive, and linen accents, cultivating a calm and inviting family environment.
This project is currently under construction and is due for completion in December 2025.
About
Hi, I’m Gianna. For me, design isn’t about perfection it’s about personality. I love creating spaces that tell a story, reflecting both their environment and the people who inhabit them spaces that feel lived in and loved.
Over the past twelve years, I’ve worked across residential, hospitality, and retail design. I find joy in curating homes and businesses where form, texture, and tone come together to create a good feeling.
I value building genuine relationships with clients and contractors and take a collaborative, down-to-earth approach to design. Meeting your design brief is important, and if you’re unsure exactly what that looks like, we can figure it out together. Each project is unique, and design can sometimes feel overwhelming, I’m here to make the process as seamless and enjoyable as possible, from initial concept through construction.
